Flooded meadow on a winter day. Hesede Skov, Denmark. Black and white landscape photography

Flooded meadow on a winter day. Hesede Skov, Denmark. February 2, 2024. On my way back from a location that I had thought of as promising, but which turned out not to be so, I passed by this meadow, which is normally inconspicuous. On this day, however, the meadow was flooded and frozen, and patterns had emerged on the ice. The patterns were formed around small elevations of earth. I am not sure what caused these elevations — roots of plants protruding above the ground? Moles?
Black and white photo of group of trees. Respect. Gisselfeld, Denmark

Respect. Gisselfeld, Denmark. January 19, 2025. This image is captured on a winter day on a misty morning. The trees stand on a slight elevation in the landscape, and the mist isolates them to some extent from the background. The canopies of these trees form a half circle, but each of the trees nevertheless retains some individuality, due to the structures of their trunks and branches. The canopies have grown in a manner that respects — that is, in the original sense of the word, ‘looks back again’ or ‘considers’ — the other trees.
After Meteorite and Storm. Boesdal Kalkbrud, Stevns, Denmark. Black and white image

After Meteorite and Storm. Stevns, Denmark. March 17, 2024. The layered cliffs date back 65 million years, where a meteorite hit the planet and caused mass extinction. The event left these cliffs with a grid pattern, exposing plenty of fossils. Normally, there is vegetation below the cliffs, but this image is taken right after a storm that uprooted almost all vegetation and left the beach covered with sand and debris, thus adding a minor disaster to the infinitely larger archaic disaster.
