These images are captured at an inconspicuous location at the outskirt of Copenhagen, Denmark. They might, however, have been captured anywhere. They depict a meadow and a small brook meandering through it, photographed during winter and early spring. Some of the images are captured on a wet winter day, where the light is low, the air is damp, and autumn’s storms have left trees flat on the ground; dead leaves of grass may have lost their colours and stretch out in patterns on the ground, or they may have remained upright, luminous and stiff, but lifeless. It is nature stripped down to its most honest state: Unadorned, dormant, but also in a quiet process of rejuvenation. Other images are captured later, during early spring, where plants coming from deep in the brook reveal delicate life in the flowing water, and where raindrops falling on the water enrich and challenge our perception of life underneath its surface.
